District Magistrate Reviews Shravani Mela Preparations in Bhagalpur
On July 16, 2024, Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary, District Magistrate of Bhagalpur, conducted an inspection of the ongoing preparations for Shravani Mela 2024. Accompanied by City SP Mr. Raj, Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Kumar Anurag, Additional Collector Disaster Management Mr. Kundan Kumar, Civil Surgeon Bhagalpur Dr. Ashok Prasad, Senior Deputy Collector General Branch Mr. Mithilesh Kumar, District Art and Culture Officer Mr. Ankit Ranjan, Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar Bhagalpur Mr. Dhananjay Kumar, and other officials, Dr. Chaudhary reviewed various sites and facilities.The inspection began with the rain center, tent city, medical camp, control room at Dhandi Bellary, and the raw Kanwaria path, with instructions to complete all tasks by July 18. Following this, Dr. Chaudhary inspected the Namami Gange Ghat and convened a review meeting with department officials at the Municipal Council auditorium.During the meeting, Dr. Chaudhary obtained detailed updates on all ongoing works and urged officials to expedite their efforts. Key directives included continuous water spraying on the Kachchi Kanwaria Path, adding reflective road marks, and expediting road completion by the Executive Engineer NH. He also emphasized placing sandbags along unfinished sections to prevent vehicle mishaps and constructing strong barricades with bamboo sticks and netting at the Ganga Ghat.The meeting revealed that 1200 police personnel will be deployed for this year's fair. Dr. Chaudhary instructed all departments to highlight their good work to the media. He also mandated the Municipal Council to ensure no open drains in the city.Shopkeepers received clear instructions to place dustbins in front of their shops, with punitive action for those spreading garbage on the roads. Cleanliness during the fair will be maintained in four shifts, monitored by an independent agency, and shopkeepers are to sell goods at prescribed rates.
